Nordic Film Series Features True Story About Woman Empowered Through Art

The true story of a woman who survives an abusive relationship through the power of photography is the March feature presentation of the Finnish American Heritage Center’s Nordic Film Series.

Finlandia Nursing Students Fundraising to Study Abroad in England

During the summer of 2019 six Finlandia University students will travel to London to explore and compare the chronic disease management models and methods used in the USA and UK.

Students will visit healthcare facilities to learn about strategies used to improve health of chronically ill populations. They will also visit Oxford City to explore the influence of research done by Oxford University in this field.

Nick Tobey Selected as Ponsse Intern for 2019

Tobey is the fifth intern to be selected for Finlandia’s exclusive internship

Finlandia University is pleased to announce that Nick Tobey has been chosen as the 2019 Ponsse Eineri Vidgrén Foundation intern.

“I’m excited to work with such a well-known and respected company,” said Tobey. “I’m eager to build international connections and learn business practices from an international perspective.”

Students Invited to Try Cross Country Skiing on March 5

Students are invited to try cross country skiing for free on Tuesday, March 5 thanks to a partnership between Finlandia University, Cross Country Sports and the Swedetown Trails Club. This opportunity is free to all students with a bus leaving at 4:30 p.m. and expected to be back by 7:30.

The event includes a stop at Cross Country Sports in Calumet where every participant will get custom fit to a pair of boots and classic cross country skis. [...]

Going International with Director of Global Initiatives Cat Fuller

Finlandia Fridays crosses borders this week with Director of Global Initiatives Cat Fuller. Member of the FinnU family since September, Fuller describes her job as “dealing with everything international.” Fuller deals with international recruitment, study abroad, and assisting faculty members who want to run their own programs abroad or do research abroad.

Fuller’s first semester saw her overseas, visiting China, the Netherlands and Finland. In China, Fuller visited area high schools to recruit students and attended a fair in Beijing. [...]
