Nick Tobey Selected as Ponsse Intern for 2019

March 4, 2019

Tobey is the fifth intern to be selected for Finlandia’s exclusive internship

Finlandia University is pleased to announce that Nick Tobey has been chosen as the 2019 Ponsse Eineri Vidgrén Foundation intern.

“I’m excited to work with such a well-known and respected company,” said Tobey. “I’m eager to build international connections and learn business practices from an international perspective.”

Tobey, a junior majoring in accounting, learned more about the opportunity from last year’s intern, Haley Makela. Shortly after hearing about Makela’s experience, Tobey applied for the internship.

Kevin Manninen, Dean of the International School of Business and liaison of the internship, noted that Tobey’s passion for learning and interest in the internship were key factors in his selection.

“Nick follows in the footsteps of the four excellent Finlandia interns who have completed the Eineri Vidgren Foundation internship,” said Manninen. “I know he’ll have a great time and gain valuable experience working for a world-class company.”

The internship will begin in mid-May with a two-week stint at Ponsse North America in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, followed by the remaining time at Ponsse headquarters in Vieremä, Finland.

In addition to the Ponsse Internship, Finlandia has a host of study abroad opportunities available to students, head on over to the global initiatives page to learn more.
