Finlandia’s Director of Global Initiatives Selected for NAFSA Trainer Corps

Director of Global Initiatives, Cat Fuller, has been selected to serve as part of NAFSA: Association of International Educators Trainer Corps on a three-year term.

Employees offered discount on golf membership at Portage Lake Golf Course

Discounted Rate is $550

Finlandia University employees are eligible for a discounted rate at Portage Lake Golf Course for the 2019 season. The course, which is located in Houghton, is offering a discounted rate for memberships of $550. That is more than a 25 percent savings over the normal rate.

Finlandia University students, alumni, staff, faculty and friends are invited to join the Copper Country community on Saturday as they vote for the Calumet Colosseum to be named Hockeyville USA 2019. Voting at krafthockeyville.com opens Saturday, March 30 at 7 a.m. (EDT), and ends Sunday, March 31 at 11 a.m. (EDT). Annual FUSNA Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser for Omega House Returns

The Finlandia University Student Nurses’ Association (FUSNA) is back to put on their annual pancake breakfast and raffle fundraiser for Omega House in Houghton. The breakfast is located at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, on April, 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dollar Bay Art Students Visit Jutila Center’s Art Studios

Faculty from Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD) welcomed high school students from Dollar Bay-Tamarack City High School to campus this week. The students toured the beautiful art facilities located in the bottom two floors of the Jutila Center with ISAD Dean Denise Vandeville, met many other faculty members and then worked on a project in the Fiber and Fashion Design studio with Professor of Fiber and Fashion Design Phyllis Fredendall.

Twelve initiated into first-year honors society

New Alpha Lambda Delta members were joined by returning students for a group photo following the ceremony.

Register for these Online Summer Classes at a Huge Discount

Registration is officially underway and with that Finlandia University is offering a selection of summer classes at 66 percent off the standard tuition price, including many online.

All courses will run for eight weeks from May 20 – July 12, 2019.

These courses are fast paced but give students the ability to learn online over the summer break.
