I'm a Michigan Native - but grew up in the lower peninsula (near Ann Arbor). At a young age, I became fascinated with the world. When I was 15, I declared to my mother that I was going to have a job that involved a lot of travel and I would own a purple Jeep. Well, still working on the jeep!
I've lived abroad - in London, and traveled to almost 50 countries. To say travel is my passion would be an understatement. I truly believe it's one of the best things to open our minds and hearts; and makes us better human beings.
I've worked in International Education for almost 18 years. I had a brief stint working for "The Mouse" (Walt Disney Company) in California for three years and working with at risk youth in Florida.
I can't say enough though that I'm so happy to be back in my chosen field and back to the state I call home. I'm not a Yooper, but a "Yooper in Training". Wish me luck!
Travel. Explore. Experience. Change. Expand. Embrace. Love.
When I worked with at risk youth, I wanted to be the "voice in their heads" that helped them make the right choices. Being back in international education, I inspire to inspire our students and our community to embrace other cultures, learn from them, teach them our unique features, and be a better person by being open-minded explorers.
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
