President’s Table Tennis Tournament to be held March 27

Calling all future table tennis champions! President Philip Johnson would like to officially invite you to participate in the fourth annual President’s Table Tennis Tournament.

When? Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. Where? Mannerheim Central. Why? To beat President Johnson, of course!

Finlandia Hosting “By Faith” – An Event Celebrating Suomi Seminary (1904-1958)

The rich history of Suomi Seminary and the lives and ministries of its graduates will be honored and celebrated September 21-22, 2019 on the campus of Finlandia University. This event, titled “By Faith,” will gather living alumni, family of alumni, the bishop of the Northern Great Lakes Synod (ELCA), other special guests, area clergy, synod and community members, and Finlandia students, faculty, and staff.

Student Juried Exhibit and Fashion Show is March 28

A juried exhibit of artwork by students in the Finlandia University International School of Art & Design (ISAD) is featured at the Finlandia University Gallery, Hancock, from March 28 through April 23, 2019.

Are you just about to graduate, looking for some direction or just interested in preparing for the inevitable future of adulting?

Finlandia University’s “A Taste of Success” alumni speaker series will continue on Tuesday, March 26 at noon with nursing alumna Suzanne Miron, RN, MSN, DNP at Mannerheim Central. All students are invited to join.

The Copper Country community is invited to the Finnish American Heritage Center on Saturday, March 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. for the inaugural Wellness Fair at Finlandia University. Guest host Briana Gorman was visited on Finlandia Fridays this week by Juha Vidgrén, chairman of the board for Ponsse. Ponsse is a Finnish-based company that builds logging equipment.

Laplander Named President-Elect of Michigan College Access Programs & Personnel

Finlandia University’s Kailee Laplander has been named President-Elect of Michigan College Access Programs & Personnel (MI-CAPP). Laplander serves as TRIO Pre-College Programs Coordinator and has been at Finlandia since the fall of 2014.
