Mail Center at Finlandia University

The Finlandia University Mail Center is located in the basement of Mannerheim Hall. This is the center of all mail-related services for campus, and is the main university switchboard.

Monday-Friday

9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Mail Delivery

Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, the Mail Center receives daily morning delivery from the U.S. Postal Services (USPS) and United Parcel Service (UPS). FedEx delivers packages to the Mail Center as needed, and at no particular day or time.

Stamps and Postage

The Mail Center sells stamps or can run off postage on the postage machine. Postage must be paid for at the time of service.

Mail Center Student Services

Resident Student Mail

Beginning after the drop/add period, mail for resident students is delivered to the student mailboxes in Finlandia Hall before 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. To receive packages and/or special mail, the student must come to the Mail Center, present their student ID and sign for their package and/or special mail. The student will be notified in their Finlandia email upon mail/packages arrival.

Note: It is against the law to use an alias name when buying merchandise or contracting services. Finlandia University will accept mail and packages addressed ONLY to a registered student’s given name (or parent’s name, if known). The Mail Center will refuse delivery of any mail or package addressed to a name that does not appear on the university’s enrollment roster.

Outgoing Mail

Finlandia University offers outgoing USPS and UPS services to students. UPS requires that packages be sent in their original box and packaging (i.e. stereos, computers, television, etc.), otherwise, UPS will not be responsible for any loss or breakage. Packages are weighed and paid for in the Mail Center before being shipped. Finlandia University cannot ship anything COD and is in no way responsible for lost or broken item(s). UPS outgoing is picked up each afternoon.

The Mail Center does furnish packaging (envelopes, boxes, etc) if we have these items on hand. Finlandia University is not responsible for letters or packages after they leave the mailroom.

Mail Center Employee Services

Photocopying

The Mail Center has a copy machine that supports two-sided black-and-white copying, transparencies, colored paper, letterhead, etc. The copier can also staple documents and add three-hole punches. For non-university-business, copy services are available for a fee.

Folding and Inserting

The Mail Center has a folding machine that can fold letters and programs. We will insert the letters for you or you can just have them folded.
