This fall, Finlandia University’s overall enrollment grew by six percent with the on-campus student population increasing by nine percent. This full-time-equivalent growth brought 25 more students to campus than in fall 2020, giving Finlandia an enrollment of 430. The fall 2021 incoming class is the largest since 2016 with Finlandia’s International School of Business realizing an all-time high of 137 degree-seeking majors. Beth Agen recently joined Finlandia’s International School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Management.

Aliina Radcliff has joined Finlandia’s College of Health Sciences as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. Radcliff has a strong background in the field with 36 years of nursing experience, the majority of that experience in the operating room and preoperative services.

Finlandia University has recently hired Melanie Thurmond as its College of Health Sciences Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program Director and Assistant Instructor.
Thurmond (’06) attained an associate’s degree from Finlandia’s PTA program and a bachelor’s degree from DeVry University in Finance. In addition, Thurmond holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Findlay, an opportunity provided by Finlandia’s graduate pathway toward the DPT program. Finlandia University was well represented on the 2020-21 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) All-Academic team. A total of 34 Lions were on the list.
The criteria for the team was being a member of a C2C championship sport and having a 3.20 G.P.A. or higher for the 2020-21 academic year earn a spot on the All-Academic team. A total of 53.4% of C2C student-athletes posted a 3.20 GPA this year (1,329 of 2,490).

HANCOCK, Mich. – Two Upper Peninsula of Michigan universities, Finlandia University in Hancock and Northern Michigan University in Marquette, have launched a joint initiative to explore high-level collaborations between the schools.
