Finlandia’s Suomi College of Arts & Sciences is excited to introduce two new bachelor’s degrees and two new minors for fall 2020. The new degrees are a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. The new minors students can explore are Military Science and Global Studies.

121 honored on Fall 2019 Dean’s and Honors List

Finlandia University is proud to announce its Fall 2019 semester Dean’s and Honors List Students. In total 121 students earned honors, including 76 who earned Dean’s List honors for having a Grade Point Average of 3.75 or above.

To be eligible for either list students must have completed 12 or more credits and had no grade below a “C.” Dean’s List students earned a GPA of 3.75 or above, while Honors List students had a GPA between 3.50 and 3.749. FinnU To Offer Creative Writing Minor Starting Fall 2020

Starting Fall 2020 students who are interested in creative writing will now be able to declare creative writing as a minor.

The creative writing minor is composed of five core classes that focus on fiction writing, poetry, creative non-fiction, a creative writing portfolio and contemporary literature.  Along with these core classes, students are asked to choose from one of three different elective courses. Paloheimo Fellows Program Accepting Applications Through Nov. 22

The Paloheimo Fellows program allows a select group of students to travel to Finland with Dr. Hilary-Joy Virtanen to study Finnish culture and society. With the support of the Paloheimo Foundation, most expenses for travel are covered.

Finlandia Highest Ranked UP School for “Most Affordable Schools in Michigan for a Bachelor’s Degree” Ranking

Finlandia University is celebrating another award, this time for affordability. FinnU was ranked by Affordable Schools as the most affordable school in the Upper Peninsula as part of the Most Affordable Schools in Michigan for a Bachelor’s Degree.
