Laura Sieders never planned on becoming a college instructor. The Calumet native moved to Washington D.C. shortly after graduating from Michigan Tech with her bachelor’s in business administration and a focus in accounting. Small class sizes provide valuable opportunities for students

When it comes to student-faculty ratio, the smaller the better. Fewer students per class means more individualized attention, feedback from professors, better networking opportunities, and it allows you connect with classmates and build friendships that will last a lifetime.

Finlandia University has been named a 2018 Best Value School by University Research & Review. This marks the second consecutive year Finlandia has made the list.

Finlandia named Top 10 Best Institutes for Career in Sports and Athletics 2018

107 honored on Spring 2018 Dean’s and Honors List

ISAD hosting open house and portfolio review July 31

Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD) is hosting an open house and portfolio review day for prospective art students on July 31.

“We are dedicated to making the arts strong in the Upper Peninsula,” ISAD coordinator Gini Brewer said. “We are hosting this event to bring in prospective students and show them what we have to offer.”

Finlandia helping to meet growing need for nurse practitioners

Finlandia University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is helping to fill the growing demand for nurse practitioners in the workforce.

“Finlandia’s nursing program, which is an accredited bachelor’s degree nursing program, has a rigorous curriculum and large number of clinical hours that prepare our graduates for advanced degrees in nursing,” said Finlandia’s Nursing Department Chair Johnna Therrian. “For many of our students, obtaining their nurse practitioner (NP) license is their goal when they’re done.”

CCSA Winter 2018-19 study abroad programs now open for enrollment

The Cooperative Center for Study Abroad Winter 2018-19 programs are now open for enrollment.

Programs include London Winter, London Arts & Literature, London Theater, London & Dublin: Two Capitals and the newest option New Zealand: Treasures of the South Pacific.

Participants can receive up to three credits for the programs and scholarships are available through CCSA. The London programs run from Dec. 26 – Jan. 8, while the New Zealand program goes from Dec. 26 – Jan. [...]
