Finlandia University’s nursing program will be introducing an exciting and unique tradition of academic families this fall.

Academic families is a tradition where junior level students “adopt” freshman and transfer students to help guide them through the first year of the educational program. Alumni Mentor Program provides valuable opportunity for students and alumni

Finlandia TRIO students have the opportunity to learn from those who have graduated before them thanks to the new Alumni Mentor Program.

The Alumni Mentor Program is available for all TRIO students, regardless of year. Alumni and students are paired by TRIO advisors with the help of Olivia Myers, Coordinator of External Relations, based off shared interests.

Busing available to see NPR’s Chris Farrell at MTU

On Monday night Chris Farrell, senior economics contributor at Marketplace, American Public Media’s nationally syndicated public radio business and economic program, will be presenting in Fisher 135 on the campus of Michigan Technological University. Finlandia University students are invited, and are welcome to take advantage of free transportation to and from Finlandia Hall.

Community invited to Soup-A-Bowl Saturday at Heritage Center

Finlandia University Clay Club is hosting its annual Soup-a-Bowl fundraiser Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Finnish American Heritage Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The club will have a large range soups (vegetarian, gluten free, meaty) with bread and coffee. This year the club has more than 150 bowls to choose from. Bowls range from $10 to $12, and people may purchase more than one bowl. Get there early for the best selection!

Haley Makela Named 2019 Student Representative for Finlandia University

Finlandia University’s 2019 graduating class will hear from marketing major Haley Makela during this year’s commencement ceremony as the local student was selected as Student Representative.
