Don’t Throw Away Your Shot! Finlandia Fridays Talks About the Flu Shot Clinic

“I’m not throwing away my shot,” sang Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton in the hit musical “Hamilton.” While Miranda wasn’t referring to a flu shot per-say, it is important not to forgo your flu shot this year. To make it easier to obtain, Finlandia University’s Wellness Committee will have influenza vaccines available for the Finlandia community on Monday, Oct. 12 from 3-5p.m in Nikander 14A.

Marie Bonenfant Moves Back to Financial Aid

Marie Bonenfant (‘13) recently moved back to the Financial Aid office of Finlandia University as a Financial Aid Counselor.

She worked in the Financial Aid Office previously, then moved over to North Wind Books for a short time, but is now working as a Financial Aid Counselor once again.

Alpha Lambda Delta Chapter Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

This year, Finlandia’s Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) chapter celebrates its fifth anniversary. The ALD is a National Honor Society for First-Year Success and to become a member, students must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher in their first semester at Finlandia.

Finlandia Competes with other U.P. Universities in ‘Fight the Flu’ Challenge

In an effort to further protect our campus communities throughout the region, the Center for Rural Health at Northern Michigan University is bringing universities throughout the U.P. together to “Fight the Flu”. Students, staff and faculty from Finlandia University, Lake Superior State University, Michigan Technological University and Northern Michigan University are competing to see which school can get the highest percentage of its total population vaccinated against the flu.

Filing Your FAFSA with Marie Bonenfant

Annual Flu Shot Clinic for Employees, Students On Oct. 12

All students and employees are invited to the annual Finlandia University Flu Shot Clinic on Monday, October 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. in Nikander 14A.

This event brings flu shots to campus in a joint effort between Finlandia nursing students, the Finlandia Wellness Committee and the UP Health System Portage. Beginning Oct. 1, McAfee Field will be available for all students to utilize for outdoor fitness and recreational purposes through Wednesday Oct. 7. It will be available during the following hours:

Terrance Fuller is a 2019 graduate in accounting who currently works as a Senior Accountant for Acrisure , a Grand Rapids-based insurance brokerage firm that is the fastest growing in its industry. Nathan Perreault Joins ISB as Assistant Professor of Management

 

Alumnus Nathan Perreault joined Finlandia’s International School of Business this past year as an Assistant Professor of Management. 

Perreault has a background in teaching and business. He has an Associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding Specialist and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Finlandia University, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University.
