Student Spotlight: Senior Marketing & Graphic Design student Madelyn Waterman

Joining Finlandia Fridays this week is senior Lions’ Soccer player Madelyn Waterman, who sits down with host Jordan Shawhan for an exciting conversation about FinnU’s Marketing and Graphic Design programs, why she decided to attend Finlandia and what she’s looking forward to most in her final year.

Like many high school students who visit Finlandia’s campus, Waterman shares how she became fascinated with the Keweenaw Peninsula. Renowned for its year-round outdoor adventures, locals enjoy hiking, camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skating, ice hockey, and skiing. In the episode, Waterman tells listeners a few of her favorite things to do in the area.

Interning with Finlandia’s Marketing & Communications Department this year, Waterman also shares what she’s enjoyed most about FinnU’s Marketing and Graphic Design programs, which feature small class sizes that propel students into the workforce through experiential learning opportunities, quality internships and connections. Diving into her new role as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, Waterman serves to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes; protecting student-athlete welfare; and fostering a positive student-athlete image, while maintaining the tenants of the Division III philosophy. Women’s Soccer heads to Newport News, Va. for the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference tournament this week. The tournament is being hosted by Christopher Newport University and will take place November 3 – 6. Follow the action live at fulions.com.
