The relationship between government and business is not something that is always understood by the general public or even business people. Chris Hatton, Legislative Director at the Michigan House of Representatives, recently spoke to FinnU business students about the importance of this relationship.
The government assists business development in a number of ways. This includes providing grants to individual businesses, tax incentives, loans through the Small Business Administration (SBA) and more.

That was one of the topics he discussed when he recently spoke to students as part of the Taste of Success alumni lecture series hosted by University External Relations.
Alumnus Stephen Szuber (’77) is set to present on the topic international business at the next A Taste of Success on Thursday, Oct. 3 in Mannerheim Central from 12 to 1 p.m.

Leading the Pride is back this month with businessman, Marko Luoma (’03). Luoma was a Finnish exchange student at Finlandia in the early 2000s and played hockey for the Lions. After spending several years working in the business sector, Luoma and his siblings decided to start their own business called Xport, which focuses on helping businesses break into new international markets.
