First ‘Testing Tuesday’ event showcases health and fitness startups

On Tuesday, November 17, MTEC SmartZone personnel, Finlandia International School of Business (ISB) students and faculty, and others participated in the first international virtual Testing Tuesday event hosted by the Finnish-based student entrepreneurial community, XES Helsinki. The first “Testing Tuesday: US Edition” business pitches by the XES Helsinki Entrepreneurial Community will be Tuesday, November 17th at 9 a.m. EST.  The four Finland-based teams will be giving short presentations on their business concept followed by questions and answers.  To join this Zoom event email Kevin Danks at ktdanks@finlandia.edu.  The Zoom link to the event will then be sent to all who sign up.

International School of Business Launches New E-Newsletter

The Finlandia International School of Business (ISB) has launched a new e-newsletter. The e-newsletter allows people to stay up-to-date on the ISB alumni, faculty and program news. Currently, the newsletter is scheduled to go out once a semester, but Kevin Manninen, Dean of the ISB, is eager to make the newsletter more frequent. The first newsletter released on Monday, Sept. 28 and can be viewed here.

Alumni Spotlight: Terrance Fuller (’19) Talks Career Success at Acrisure

Terrance Fuller is a 2019 graduate in accounting who currently works as a Senior Accountant for Acrisure , a Grand Rapids-based insurance brokerage firm that is the fastest growing in its industry. Nathan Perreault Joins ISB as Assistant Professor of Management

 

Alumnus Nathan Perreault joined Finlandia’s International School of Business this past year as an Assistant Professor of Management. 

Perreault has a background in teaching and business. He has an Associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding Specialist and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Finlandia University, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University.

FinnU Business Students Assist Area Firms with International Expansion

Many businesses in our region have the potential to expand into the global marketplace. However, many of these businesses lack the time and resources to fully concentrate on exploiting such opportunities.  This spring, students in the International School of Business, Global Entrepreneurship class worked with two area businesses to develop plans that assist them in expanding their international operations.

Nicholas Tobey Elected as 2020 Student Representative

The 2020 Finlandia University graduating class will have a celebration unlike any other. Although the May 21st commencement ceremony will not be in person like previous years, but a virtual ceremony instead, the graduating class will still hear from their student representative, Nicholas Tobey. Tobey has been a successful student and leader in and out of the classroom.
