FinnU Business Students Assist Area Firms with International Expansion

Many businesses in our region have the potential to expand into the global marketplace. However, many of these businesses lack the time and resources to fully concentrate on exploiting such opportunities.  This spring, students in the International School of Business, Global Entrepreneurship class worked with two area businesses to develop plans that assist them in expanding their international operations.

Nicholas Tobey Elected as 2020 Student Representative

The 2020 Finlandia University graduating class will have a celebration unlike any other. Although the May 21st commencement ceremony will not be in person like previous years, but a virtual ceremony instead, the graduating class will still hear from their student representative, Nicholas Tobey. Students at Finlandia University with a business idea are highly encouraged to apply for the free MTEC SmartStart SmartZone program to develop essential entrepreneurial skills. Finnish Exchange Alum, Marko Luoma (’03), talks International Business on Leading the Pride

Leading the Pride is back this month with businessman, Marko Luoma (’03). Luoma was a Finnish exchange student at Finlandia in the early 2000s and played hockey for the Lions. After spending several years working in the business sector, Luoma and his siblings decided to start their own business called Xport, which focuses on helping businesses break into new international markets.
