Finlandia University Ranks Among The Top Colleges In Michigan

Finlandia University has been awarded a top ranking status for Best Colleges In Michigan by Intelligent.com. FinnU was ranked No. 14 in Michigan and the Best Lutheran Institution in the state. The comprehensive research guide is based on an assessment of 2,277 accredited colleges and universities with each university evaluated based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment.

ISAD faculty art work on display at the Finlandia University Gallery

Finlandia University’s International School of Art and Design will present a faculty exhibit at the Finlandia University Gallery, located in the Finnish American Heritage Center (FAHC) in Hancock from February 18 to March 19, 2021.

The Seaton Center for Vocation & Career is officially open

It’s a moment campus has been waiting for since the news originally broke in 2019. The Seaton Center for Vocation & Career is officially open and housed in Nikander 15. While there are still some furniture pieces coming in and decorating to be completed, the CVC is now offering services and appointment to students.

Textbook buyback happening Feb. 23-25 at NWB

Textbook Buyback will be at North Wind Books on the campus of Finlandia University on February 23-25. This is an opportunity for students to get top dollar back for textbooks after they’re done using them. All textbooks purchased by cash, check, credit card, financial aid, or sponsorship are eligible for buy back. North Wind Books has partnered with Nebraska Book Company to provide the opportunity to receive Cash for Books. Please have your Student ID with you for Buyback.

Applications Open for 2021 Samuel L. Westerman Scholarship for Nursing

Update 2/25: The scholarship deadline has been extended to Wednesday, March 10. This article has been updated to reflect that change.

Nursing students heading into their junior or senior year with a GPA between 3.00 to 3.49 may be eligible for the Samuel L. Westerman Scholarship for Nursing. Application deadline for the scholarship is Thursday, March 10.

New articulation agreement with NMU provides clear pathway to MSW

Finlandia University is excited to announce a new articulation agreement between FinnU and Northern Michigan University that will provide a clear pathway for students interested in pursing a Master’s of Social Work degree.

“We developed this partnership so that any students in those PsychologySociology or Criminal Justice majors can then qualify for what we’re calling the Early Assurance Program into Northern’s MSW program,” said Dr. Jason Oyadomari, Dean of the Suomi College of Arts & Sciences.
