Cat Fuller makes the move to the Copper Country to spearhead Global Initiatives at Finlandia

Documentary Filmmaker Byron Hurt coming to Finlandia University

Next week Finlandia University welcomes renowned documentary filmmaker Byron Hurt to the area for an event titled “Locker Room Talk or Toxic Masculinity?” on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Finnish American Heritage Center.

Nordic Music Workshop coming to Hancock on October 6

Copper Country residents and visitors are invited to a unique Nordic Music Workshop on Saturday, October 6 at 2 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center.

Alumni of Finlandia University are set to see a major upgrade in alumni services as the university has welcomed Olivia Myers to the role of Coordinator of External Affairs. Beginning Thursday, September 18, Finlandia University Gallery will be open on Thursday evenings and Saturdays.

These are effective September 18 – December 15. Normal hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday will be in place after December 15.

Flu Shot Clinic in Finlandia Hall on October 3

All students and employees are invited to the annual Finlandia University Flu Shot Clinic on Wednesday, October 3 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the conference room in Finlandia Hall.

This event brings flu shots to campus in a joint effort between Finlandia nursing students, the Finlandia Wellness Committee and the Western U.P. Health Department. Juliet Kitale of Tanzania talks about trip to U.S. on Finlandia Fridays

For more than a week now the Copper Country has been blessed with a dozen visitors coming all the way from Tanzania, and this week on Finlandia Fridays we got to meet one of them, Juliet Kitale.

Feeding America West Michigan and Finlandia University to Host Mobile Food Pantry on October 10

On October 10, Feeding America West Michigan,in partnership with Finlandia University, will provide a food distribution to people in need at Baraga Area High School. The distribution will take place at 4:30 p.m.

NOTE: The event has been moved inside to the small gym. Volunteers will enter the school by the flag pole. Those coming to get food should follow volunteer instruction upon arriving at the school.
