FAFSA deadline extended to May 1 for MI aid

Students who want to be given priority consideration for state of Michigan financial aid programs now have some extra time to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, according to the Michigan Department of Treasury.

Embrace Your Sisu Winners Announced

Finlandia University is excited to announce the winners of the Embrace Your Sisu Scholarship competition. 14 participants submitted their finished lion coloring page and two winners were selected. The People’s Choice Winner with 2,552 votes was Emily Nelson from Ishpeming, MI, who will be entering Finlandia in the fall of 2021.

It’s FAFSA time! Fill yours out before time is up on March 1

Calling all Michigan students, the FAFSA deadline is fast approaching. Don’t forget that all FAFSA’s need to be completed by March 1 in order to get the most out of your financial aid package for the coming year.

Students seeking financial aid must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Treasury MI providing Virtual College Financial Aid Nights throughout Feb.

Students and families looking for help paying for college are encouraged to register for a Virtual College Financial Aid Night provided by Treasury’s MI Student Aid team. Sessions will be available every Tuesday and Thursday evening during the month of February from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. EST.

Participants will be able to gather information on the following financial aid topics:
