TRIO STEAM Saturdays pilot program tackles social justice for high schoolers

TRIO Pre-College Programs Invited to National Pilot Program

TRIO Pre-College Programs, hosted by Finlandia University, was selected to participate in the STEAM National Saturday Academy pilot program in Spring 2021. New articulation agreement with NMU provides clear pathway to MSW

Finlandia University is excited to announce a new articulation agreement between FinnU and Northern Michigan University that will provide a clear pathway for students interested in pursing a Master’s of Social Work degree.

“We developed this partnership so that any students in those PsychologySociology or Criminal Justice majors can then qualify for what we’re calling the Early Assurance Program into Northern’s MSW program,” said Dr. Jason Oyadomari, Dean of the Suomi College of Arts & Sciences.

Volunteer with the Great Bear Chase this March

The UP Health System Great Bear Chase Ski Marathon is looking for volunteers to assist with its annual event. The Great Bear Chase includes three distances, with separate races and starts for classic and freestyle: 50k, 25k, and 10k. The Great Bear Chase also includes a 50km skiathlon (25km classic and 25km freestyle). Campus Closed, Classes Canceled Feb. 5 Due to Inclement Weather

Finlandia University will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 5 and no classes (in-person and remote) will be held due to inclement weather. Only personnel who provide essential services to students should report. The Maki Library and Paavo Nurmi Fitness Center will also be closed.

It’s FAFSA time! Fill yours out before time is up on March 1

Calling all Michigan students, the FAFSA deadline is fast approaching. Don’t forget that all FAFSA’s need to be completed by March 1 in order to get the most out of your financial aid package for the coming year.

115 named to FinnU Dean’s & Honors List for Fall 2020

Finlandia University is proud to announce its Fall 2020 semester Dean’s and Honors List Students. In total 115 students earned honors, including 79 who earned Dean’s List honors for having a grade point average of 3.75 or above.

To be eligible for either list students must have completed 12 or more credits and had no grade below a “C.” Dean’s List students earned a GPA of 3.75 or above, while Honors List students had a GPA between 3.50 and 3.749. Semester academic honors are not granted to students with an [...]
