TRIO Talent Search Meets APR Objectives

TRIO Talent Search at Finlandia University met 100 percent of their Annual Performance Report objectives, set by the U.S. Department of Education, for the 2019-2020 academic year. Each year, TRIO programs must complete an Annual Performance Report (APR) to assess the grantee’s progress in meeting its approved goals and objectives and to determine a grantee’s prior experience (PE) points in accordance with the program regulations.

Acadeum provides more online course options for students

Finlandia University is excited to announce a new partnership with the Council of Independent Colleges Online Course Sharing Consortium through its Acadeum platform. Through Acadeum, students can sign up for online classes offered by other universities in the cohort. The service is particularly ideal for transfer students or students looking for a course that is not offered at Finlandia.

Treasury MI providing Virtual College Financial Aid Nights throughout Feb.

Students and families looking for help paying for college are encouraged to register for a Virtual College Financial Aid Night provided by Treasury’s MI Student Aid team. Sessions will be available every Tuesday and Thursday evening during the month of February from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. EST.

Female students with at least a 3.0 GPA are invited to apply to live in the Koskela Servant Leadership House next school year. The Koskela Servant Leadership House is a unique living and learning community for female students who are committed to personal growth and servant leadership as a means of building a vibrant and caring community.

Finlandia Fridays talks new student health clinic

This week’s Finlandia Fridays featured Assistant Professor of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner, Cindy Blake, as she discussed the new student health clinic, which officially opened this semester. Finlandia partnered with Upper Great Lakes Health to open the on-campus clinic, located in Nikander 14A. It will be open Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm and provide same-day in-person and tele-health appointments.

TRIO Upward Bound (TRIO UB), hosted by Finlandia University, is currently accepting applications for 20 new high school participants from the CCISD. Ideal TRIO UB candidates would like to attend college after high school, are open to academic and personal support, are committed to attending events, and would appreciate a community atmosphere.
