Canal Run 2022 | Photo Gallery

On July 16, President Tim Pinnow joined Finlandia University faculty, staff, and even Riku the Lion, for a day of volunteering at the 47th Annual Canal Run. FinnU volunteers helped out by assisting at the various water stops, handing out awards at the finish line and guiding participants.

Finlandia community invited to volunteer at 2022 Canal Run

The 2022 Canal Run, set for July 16, is under a week away! Volunteers are still needed and Finlandia students, employees and alumni are all invited to lend a helping hand. Whether you are looking to patrol the finish line, guide participants or even assist at the various water stops, your help is appreciated. Bring a group of friends or coworkers because a fun time is promised!

Finlandia Alumni Board raises $10,000 for student textbooks

On June 14, alumni, friends and family of Finlandia University joined together in support of Giving Day 2022 in an effort to raise money for student textbooks. Determined to find a way to give back to students, Finlandia’s Alumni Board (FAB) started Giving Day in 2019 and has since raised more than $60,000 in its efforts.

Giving Day 2022 starts now!

Join the Finlandia Alumni Board for a day dedicated to raising money to help students pay for textbooks. The Finlandia Alumni Board seeks to raise $10,000 and is looking to share this message to support their cause. To learn more about how to give back to Finlandia’s students, visit finlandia.edu/givingday. Every $250 awards another FinnU student a textbook scholarship!

Support student textbook awards on June 14

Giving Day 2022 is one week away!

The Finlandia Alumni Board is hosting its fourth Giving Day on June 14, 2022. The day is dedicated to raising money to help students pay for textbooks.

In 2021, the FAB helped 49 students with their textbooks and was able to help fund two student support initiatives by donating to Finlandia’s Textbook Justice Library and North Wind Books. The Finlandia Alumni Board will host its fourth annual Giving Day on June 14 this year. Dedicated to helping students pay for textbooks, the Alumni Board’s annual fundraiser supports FinnU students through the way of textbook awards. Volunteer for Canal Run!

The 47th Annual Canal Run is July 16 this year and they are looking for volunteers!

For more than 40 years, the Canal Run has been creating incredible memories in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Founded to promote the involvement and wellness of our community and its members, the event is a highlight of the summer for many of the hundreds of people who participate or volunteer each year. On-campus student, employee vaccine clinic Thursday, Jan. 27

Sponsored by Western Upper Peninsula Health Department (WUPHD), Finlandia Nursing will be hosting a free on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Thursday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m located in the Hirvonen Hall gymnasium. FinnU students and employees will be able to receive a Moderna vaccine, which can be used as a Pfizer booster, or a one-shot J&J vaccine.

As part of the FinnU Vacc to School Challenge, students receive $100 cash for reporting their new vaccines through the
