Finlandia University launches online mental health counseling service for students through META Teletherapy

META Student Teletherapy provides students with confidential and easy access to a marketplace of mental wellness providers. Finlandia University, a long-standing liberal arts college in northern Michigan, has become the latest institution of higher learning to offer META Teletherapy to students.

Free on-campus vaccine clinic Thursday, September 23

Sponsored by Upper Great Lakes Health, Finlandia University will be hosting a FREE on-campus vaccine clinic in Nikander Room 14A (Health Center) on Thursday, September 23. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., FinnU students and employees are able to receive either the Moderna (first or second dose) or the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine.

Sponsored by the Western UP Health Department, Finlandia University will be hosting an on-campus vaccine clinic at the Finlandia Hall lounge on Tuesday, August 17. From 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., FinnU students and employees are able to receive either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine, free of charge. The 2021 Canal Run, set for July 17, is under a week away! Volunteers are still needed and Finlandia students, employees and alumni are all invited to lend a helping hand. 121 honored on Fall 2019 Dean’s and Honors List

Finlandia University is proud to announce its Fall 2019 semester Dean’s and Honors List Students. In total 121 students earned honors, including 76 who earned Dean’s List honors for having a Grade Point Average of 3.75 or above.

To be eligible for either list students must have completed 12 or more credits and had no grade below a “C.” Dean’s List students earned a GPA of 3.75 or above, while Honors List students had a GPA between 3.50 and 3.749. Student Volunteers Needed to Help Build Hancock Playground

The City of Hancock is looking for student volunteers to help build a playground at the Little League Field located in the Driving Park behind the Houghton County Arena. Shifts last three hours, and the the City is hoping for six volunteers on Friday, August 23 from 8am-4:30pm and Saturday, August 24 from 8am to completion.

114 honored on Spring 2019 Dean’s and Honors List

Kenneth Kujawa and Malone Hiebert make the walk across campus this winter. Hiebert and Kujawa are both Spring 2019 Dean’s List students.

Finlandia University is proud to announce its Spring 2019 semester Dean’s and Honors List Students. In total 114 students earned honors, including 68 who earned Dean’s List honors for having a Grade Point Average of 3.75 or above.
