Through an educational collaboration between Finlandia University and Hancock Central High School, the Hancock Promise allows for Hancock Central High School graduates to attend Finlandia University at a tuition cost of up to only $2,500 per school year. Hancock Central held their graduation ceremony Saturday, May 29, following a senior parade that proceeded down Quincy Street. The Finlandia Alumni Board is hosting their third Giving Day on June 16, 2021. The day is dedicated to raising money to help students pay for textbooks and will feature Facebook and social media announcements, information on textbook costs, and conversations with past textbook award winners and FAB members!

Finlandia University is extending its $1,000 Visiting Scholarship deadline to August 1, 2021. This scholarship is only available to first-time full-time students in good standing at the University entering Fall 2021. To receive this award, visits must be scheduled through the admissions office.
Finlandia is currently offering a virtual and in-person option for campus visits. Both qualify for the $1000 Visiting Scholarship.

Finlandia University is excited to announce the winners of the Embrace Your Sisu Scholarship competition. 14 participants submitted their finished lion coloring page and two winners were selected. The People’s Choice Winner with 2,552 votes was Emily Nelson from Ishpeming, MI, who will be entering Finlandia in the fall of 2021.

Finlandia alumni and friends donated over $30,000 for FinnU’s Giving Tuesday efforts on Dec. 1, 2020. In total, 61 donors raised $30,087 for student scholarships. This total includes the $10,000 anonymous match that kicked off the event.
