Biography
A native of the Copper Country, Kevin has been the dean of the International School of Business since 2013. While at Finlandia, he has overseen several curriculum improvements and has been especially active in promoting the experiential learning and international aspects of the International School of Business.
Previous to this, he lived for 15 years in Finland lecturing and assisting in developing the International Business Program at the JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä.
While at JAMK, he trained and coached numerous Finnish and Russian start-ups and established companies. He has lectured throughout Europe including at FRIDAS Business College in Obninsk, Russia, the University of Rome and the University of Genoa in Italy, The Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (Germany), University of Pecs (Hungary), Ljubljana University (Slovenia). He later worked as the Manager of Business Development at Jyväskylä Innovation, Oy where he marketed the region and assisted in developing its high tech business sectors.
Upon returning to the USA in 2010, he worked for one year as an Economic Coordinator for Western U.P. Planning and Development Region. In his spare time he enjoys hockey, other sports, history and walking with his dog in the great outdoors.
Personal Statement
Here in the International School of Business we focus on providing the students with a well-rounded business education. In addition, we also strive to provide the student with skills and experience that will enable them to stand out from the crowd as they enter the employment market. Our focus on experiential learning through quality internships, projects, interaction with business professionals, study abroad opportunities and even a project management competition, gives the students the opportunity to make the most of their educational opportunity here at Finlandia.
