Dana Pakulski, New Assistant Librarian at Maki Library

Finlandia University is excited to welcome back Dana Pakulski, a 2018 alum, who is one of two Assistant Librarians at Maki Library.  Pakulski received her Bachelor’s degree in English and plans to earn her Master’s degree in Library Services and Sciences.  

Prior to working at Maki Library, Pakulski, worked at the Hancock Public Library as a Library Assistant, where she shelved and processed books, organized storytimes and helped patrons. On-campus she will provide reference services to students, faculty, [...]

Climate Change Writing Contest

The Campus Read committee invites submissions of essays, fiction and poetry (500 words or less) that consider how your life, landscape and community are affected by the climate crisis, or that imagines how we can meet its challenges.

The winning entry will be announced October 22 at the Campus Read event with Katya Gordon and published in the Daily Mining Gazette.

Email entries to dana.pakulski@finandia.edu by October 20 to be considered.

Former Fiat Chrysler NAFTA Regional Lead, Stephen Szuber (’77) to Present at Oct. Taste of Success

Alumnus Stephen Szuber (’77) is set to present on the topic international business at the next A Taste of Success on Thursday, Oct. 3 in Mannerheim Central from 12 to 1 p.m.

Szuber served as the NAFTA Regional Lead for Fiat Chrysler for several years until his recent retirement. He currently resides in Shelby Township, MI and serves as Vice President of the Finlandia Alumni Board and is an active member of the Suomi Roomies alumni group. In his retirement, [...]

Campus Read 2019 Tackles Climate Change with Author Katya Gordon

Katya Gordon of Sea Change Expeditions will be the featured author for the 2019 Finlandia University Campus Read.

Mock Rock Hosted by Student Senate Set for October 3

Time to grab a friend or two or even go solo and sing your heart out. Choose your favorite song and test your skills at Student Senate’s Mock Rock.

Taking place on Thursday, October 3, Mock Rock will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew. Judged by Finlandia faculty members, monetary prizes will be given to the top three acts. Costumes are encouraged, but more importantly have fun!

Dr. Jeffrey Pettibone Welcomed as New Psychology Professor

This week Finlandia Fridays was visited by Vice President for Advancement Karin Van Dyke to tell us all about By Faith and the events that will be happening this upcoming weekend. Van Dyke also discusses Parade of Nations and the history surrounding the event.
