Portage Health Foundation and Finlandia University announce new partnership

Dr. Emily Geiger joins science department at Finlandia

Finlandia University has hired Dr. Emily Geiger as Assistant Professor of Biochemistry.

“I’m excited to be part of the science department at Finlandia,” Dr. Geiger said. “I appreciate the small class sizes, which contribute to a great learning environment.”

Dr. Geiger began teaching as an adjunct at FinnU in the spring semester. She will lead courses in general chemistry and organic chemistry, as well as the associated labs this fall. The offering of organic chemistry courses is new at the university.

Enrollment deposits now accepted on Finlandia website

Students interested in committing to Finlandia University now have another option available to make their deposit. Students can now deposit online. Credit and debit cards – including Visa, Discover, Mastercard and American Express – are now accepted at finlandia.edu/deposit.

“We’re always trying to make the admissions process as pain-free as possible,” said Marie Bonenfant, coordinator of student accounts. “Accepting deposits online should make things easier for everyone involved.”

Save $1,000 by tripling up in Finlandia Hall

Finlandia University students who will be residing in Finlandia Hall have the opportunity to save $1,000 over the year ($500 per semester) by living with three people in a room.

“You will get a discount from the university on your room charges,” Coordinator of Residential Life Leann Fogle said.

Finlandia introduces new director of MA and MBC Programs

Samantha Saint-Onge has been named Medical Assistant/Medical Billing and Coding Program Director in the College of Health Sciences at Finlandia University.

“This is a great opportunity for Sam to advance her leadership skills and continue the good work of Pam Borsum, our previous MA/MBC Director,” said Cam Williams, Dean of the College of Health Sciences. “We are confident she can lead the program, and look forward to her continued professional development.”

Finlandia’s RN-BSN program now available 100 percent online

Finlandia University’s RN-BSN Program is now approved by the Higher Learning Commission to be available as 100 percent RN-BSN online.

North Wind Books to be closed June 29-30

North Wind Books, the official book and apparel store of Finlandia University, will be closed on Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30, 2016. The store is closing for their annual inventory processing.

It will open again the afternoon of Friday, July 1.

Finlandia University Mail Center moves to limited summer hours

The Finlandia University Mail Center is now open summer hours, including limited hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Fridays.

The mail center is located in the basement of Mannerheim Hall. This is the center of all mail-related services for campus, and is the main university switchboard. For more information on the Finlandia University Mail Center visit finlandia.edu/offices-services/mail-center/.
