Finlandia Alumni Board announces Textbook Award recipients

2019 Giving Day Luncheon with Finlandia Alumni Board and Textbook Award recipients.

The Finlandia Alumni Board (FAB) has selected 35 students to receive the 2022 Alumni Board Textbook Awards. Resulting directly from the FAB’s annual Giving Day campaign, the application asked each student to share how the award would help in their academic and personal endeavors.

Students encouraged to apply for $250 textbook awards

Finlandia students who are enrolled for Fall 2022 are encouraged to apply for a $250 Alumni Board Textbook Award. The Award, given in the form of a Textbook Voucher redeemable at North Wind Books, is open to all students who meet the following criteria:

Enrolled full-time for Fall 2022 In good academic standing Degree-seeking

The free application will be open until Friday, July 22 and recipients will be notified prior to the start of the semester.

Finlandia Alumni Board raises $10,000 for student textbooks

On June 14, alumni, friends and family of Finlandia University joined together in support of Giving Day 2022 in an effort to raise money for student textbooks. Determined to find a way to give back to students, Finlandia’s Alumni Board (FAB) started Giving Day in 2019 and has since raised more than $60,000 in its efforts.

10 FinnU Vacc to School Challenge Textbook Award winners announced

In July, Finlandia University announced the FinnU Vacc to School Challenge with the goal of reaching a campus wide vaccination status of 70 percent. As part of this challenge, 10 student textbook awards were announced along with the chance for students to win even more prizes. Textbook Giving Day is today!

The Finlandia Alumni Board is hosting Giving Day 2021 today, June 16! Giving Day is dedicated to raising money to help students pay for textbooks. The Finlandia Alumni Board seeks to raise $10,000 and are looking to share this message to support their cause. Giving Day Brings in $8,945 for Student Textbooks

In February of 2019, the Finlandia Alumni Board (FAB) determined it wanted to give back to current students in a meaningful way. The FAB, led by president Monica Hill (’76), ultimately decided to raise funds to support a Textbook Award, to be given out in the form of a gift certificate to North Wind Books to help offset the rising cost of textbooks. The best way to do this? Set up Finlandia’s first Giving Day.
