Support Students this Giving Day

March 13, 2020

As FinnU transitions to online classes for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, the need for textbooks for the fall semester is still great. On this episode of Finlandia Fridays host, Anastazia Hartman was joined by Coordinator of External Relations, Monica Freeman and 2019 Textbook Award recipient and alumna Sam Richards (Accounting, ’19) to discuss this years Giving Day and the difference the Textbook Awards make in a students life.

“The Alumni Board decided to do the Textbook Award again after they awarded and met the students last year,” said Freeman. “They noticed that the need is definitely there. That was their primary goal again this year.

Last year they raised a little under $10,000 and helped 39 students. The unofficial goal this year is to help 50 students which is a little over $12,000.”

Every donation made helps a student lessen the cost of textbooks. Donations can be made now on the Giving Day page or on March 18th on Facebook. Donors who would like to send a check can do so by mailing to 601 Quincy St, Hancock, MI 49930 with the memo stating Giving Day.
