The Maki Library is pleased to host the Finnish Language, Dialects & Finnish-American Experience Author Reading and Reception this Thursday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. Three scholars will be presenting their most recent works:

Dana Pakulski, New Assistant Librarian at Maki Library

Finlandia University is excited to welcome back Dana Pakulski, a 2018 alum, who is one of two Assistant Librarians at Maki Library.  Pakulski received her Bachelor’s degree in English and plans to earn her Master’s degree in Library Services and Sciences.

Maki Library asking for first-year students to complete survey

The Maki Library invites you to participate in the annual First Year Student Information Literacy survey through the link below. Information literacy skills are related to research skills and knowing how to use library resources.  It will take about 10 minutes to complete and gives staff at the library information they can use to provide better service to students. Maki Library Open House during Juhannus Mid-Summer Festival

The Sulo & Aileen Maki Library at Finlandia University will be joining in the Juhannus Mid-Summer Festival activities by holding an open house beginning Wednesday, June 21 and ending on June 28. The public is welcome to come and explore the library’s collection of early 20th century Finnish postcards, vintage Finnish travel posters and a book display featuring Finnish art and design books. There will also be a book sale with new books, ex-library books, DVDs, audiobooks and more.

New hire brings unique experience and passion to Maki Library

Finlandia University is honored to welcome Airen Campbell-Olszewski to the university’s family. Campbell-Olszewski takes the role of an Assistant Librarian at Sulo and Aileen Maki Library.

Hours for Maki Library during 2016 Thanksgiving Break

The Maki Library will be open limited hours during the week of Thanksgiving. Below the hours are listed, and you can also find them anytime by visiting finlandia.edu/library.

2016 Thanksgiving Week Library Hours Monday & Tuesday – 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday & Friday – Closed Saturday – 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday – 3 to 11 p.m.

Maki Library hosting Publishing Rocks! Reception

Finlandia employees, students and community members are invited to attend the Publishing Rocks! Reception to celebrate faculty and Dr. Ralph Pifer on Wednesday, October 19 at 6 p.m. at Maki Library.

The event will celebrate 120 years of Finlandia University faculty publications and 14 years of donations from Dr. Pifer.

Highlights of the event will include introduction of new publications from currenty faculty, as well as a new collection of geological and fossil specimens and archaeological artifacts from Dr. Pifer.
