The FinnU Vacc to School Challenge, which will provide free textbooks for the semester to 10 Finlandia students, is open to submissions until August 7. To apply, students are asked to submit their full or partial (1st shot) vaccination card. Winners will be announced on August 20 at a live drawing event during Convocation. The award will be redeemable for either semester during the 2021-2022 school year.

The Finlandia Alumni Board (FAB) started Giving Day in 2019 determined to give back to current students in the way of textbook awards. Recipients receive a gift certificate to North Wind Books in the amount of $250 to help offset the rising cost of textbooks. 35 students received textbook awards in 2019, with almost $9,000 raised. The Finlandia Alumni Board seeks to raise $10,000 and are looking to share this message to support their cause. The Finlandia Alumni Board (FAB) is hosting its annual Giving Day on Sept. 1 in an effort to raise $30,000 to assist the university in it’s Safe Open. As FinnU transitions to online classes for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, the need for textbooks for the fall semester is still great.
