GoFundMe campaign for Old Main renovations starts today!

The Finlandia Alumni Board is pleased to announce the initiation of a crowdfunding effort to help renovate the Old Main building’s roof. The fundraiser begins today, February 23, 2017, at gofundme.com/oldmain. The GoFundMe campaign will remain open until the end of May, at which point we hope to have reached our fundraising goal of $45,000, the cost of installing a new roof for the historic Old Main building.

Organization Responds with ROI Report on Economic Contributions, Academic Leadership

Michigan’s Independent Colleges and Universities (MICU) today released a major report on the economic footprint of its members, showing a wealth of contributions to the state’s prosperity, knowledge and culture.

The report shows that MICU’s 25 not-for-profit institutions, which includes Finlandia University, directly spend $2 billion in Michigan each year. They also provide 26,000 jobs to Michiganders—17,000 of whom are directly employed by the colleges and universities, [...]

Alumni and friends of the university who reside near Phoenix, Arizona are asked to mark their calendar for a special event being planned for Saturday, March 25, 2017. Dial Help providing on-site services to FinnU students and employees

Weekly on-campus availability on Monday afternoons

Students at Finlandia University seeking assistance through a traumatic event are now able to get that service right on Finlandia’s campus as Dial Help’s Sexual Assault Service Coordinator Peggy Sullivan will be on campus each Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. Sullivan can be found in Mannerheim 124, near the Registrar’s Office.

Applications now being accepted for Brule Scholarship at FinnU

$20,000 competitive art & design scholarship for incoming students

Finlandia University is now accepting applications for the Dave and Elsa Brule Scholarship. This competitive scholarship is for students interested in studying art and design in the university’s International School of Art & Design.

Alum and former employee seeking help

A former employee and 2004 graduate of Finlandia University is looking for your help. Scott Raisanen’s daughter Adeline was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HPLHS) at the 20 week ultrasound. It’s been a difficult journey for the Adeline, and to help offset the costs a GoFundMe page has been created. Any help from the Finlandia University community would be appreciated.

Brule Art Scholarship announced on Finlandia Fridays

Finlandia University announces six $20,000 scholarships for students interested in studying art and design. These art scholarships are made available because of the generous support Finlandia University has received from Elsa and David Brule.
