Finlandia’s annual Phoenix President’s Reception set for March 25February 9, 2017
Alumni and friends of the university who reside near Phoenix, Arizona are asked to mark their calendar for a special event being planned for Saturday, March 25, 2017. Finlandia University, together with Finns and Friends of Phoenix and the Honorary Consul of Finland to Arizona and New Mexico, Gary Waissi, are joining hands to celebrate Finland’s 100th year of independence. Special guests for this year’s annual reception include:
- Honorable Stefan Lindström, Consul General of Finland, Los Angeles
- Jim Kurtti, Honorary Consul of Finland to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Director of Finlandia’s Finnish American Heritage Center, and Editor of the Finnish American Reporter
- The Olli Hirvonen Quartet from New York City
Our program will include remarks by special guests, a brief presentation from Finlandia, and special music. The menu will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages prepared and served by the exceptional staff at the Acacia Restaurant, Camelback Golf Club, Scottsdale. Dress for the President’s Formal Reception is black-tie optional or business attire.
