Maki Library Open House during Juhannus Mid-Summer Festival

The Sulo & Aileen Maki Library at Finlandia University will be joining in the Juhannus Mid-Summer Festival activities by holding an open house beginning Wednesday, June 21 and ending on June 28. The public is welcome to come and explore the library’s collection of early 20th century Finnish postcards, vintage Finnish travel posters and a book display featuring Finnish art and design books. There will also be a book sale with new books, ex-library books, DVDs, audiobooks and more.

Finlandia University named a 2017 Best Value School

Finlandia University is one of 80 schools nationwide to be recognized by University Research & Review as a 2017 Best Value School.

TRIO Upward Bound, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture to help nourish high school students this summer

This summer, from June 12 to July 13, 2017, approximately 35 area high school students will experience the daily routines of college freshmen on the Finlandia University campus.

The TRIO Upward Bound summer students live in the Finlandia residence hall, attend demanding daily classes, complete homework, meet new people, and, of course, eat three meals daily in Finlandia’s cafeteria.

This month’s Finlandia University alumni success story is focusing on Carley Saint-Onge – a graduate of Finlandia’s International School of Business. Saint-Onge is now working in marketing for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas. In this question-and-answer session, she talks about the world of small schools compared to big schools, digital marketing, business-to-business marketing compared to business-to-consumer marketing, what it was like to move to a new region and what she remembers best about her time at FinnU.

Evan Brandt takes reigns of baseball program

Today Finlandia University’s athletic office announced Evan Brandt as the head coach of the FinnU baseball team. Check out the announcement from last week below or at fulions.com

Evan Brandt has been named the head baseball coach at Finlandia University.  He had spent the last two years as the assistant coach for the Lions.

Nathan Junttila highlighted in Ponsse newsletter

For the third year in a row, Finlandia University and Ponsse, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of forest machines for the cut-to-length method, have partnered for to offer the Ponsse Einari Vidgrén Foundation Internship.
