Finlandia announces scholarship overhaul ahead of spring 2023 semester

Finlandia University will build on its commitment to providing affordable higher education by awarding newly introduced scholarship packages to incoming spring 2023 students. Taking steps to simplify the cost of attendance further, Finlandia’s new Scholarship Calculator acts as a fast and easy-to-use tool for all.

Within two to six questions, the calculator provides students with the minimum scholarship amount they will receive from Finlandia University. Minimum scholarships are then stackable with additional add-ons.

All this comes before federal and state aid, which can only further lower a student’s cost of attendance. By filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with Finlandia’s school code 002322, students may also qualify for the Rise Together Free Full Tuition Scholarship. After filing your FAFSA and filling out a free 10-minute application to Finlandia University, incoming students will receive their personalized financial aid award within three days.

Finlandia Dean of Enrollment Anthony Schwass explained how the new packages are categorized. 

“The Yooper scholarships will be either for students graduating from a U.P. high school or transferring from a U.P. college or university. The Northern Neighbors scholarships will be for our Canadian students, and then the Sisu scholarships are going to be for all other students,” Schwass said.
