On Saturday, November 16, the Finlandia University chapter of the Young Women’s Caucus for Art will host their annual fundraiser, the Soup & Art Auction.
Each year the club members fundraise to go to the National Women’s Art Caucus conference. This year this conference is in Chicago. The first college chapter of this art-oriented national organization, was founded here at Finlandia.

Art students Emma Mackey and Blue Kenwood dropped by Finlandia Fridays this week. Both Mackey and Kenwood are sophomores in the International School of Art and Design, and members of the Young Women’s Caucus of Art (YWCA).

Like most people who visit the copper country, Amicucci fell in love with the sea of trees and long winters during her time at Finlandia University.
“I was looking for three things when I was applying to colleges: great student to teacher ratio, a strong art department and traveling,” says Amicucci, who earned her BFA in ceramics. “Finlandia had the perfect balance of all three.”
Current President of the Young Women’s Caucus for Art Abigail Tembreull and soon-to-be President Elle Rowe stopped by Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about the future of the club. The Young Women’s Caucus for Art is a club that primarily works towards promoting women in the art world, but don’t let the name fool you, the club is open to all genders.
Join the First Thursday Art and Design Pizza lunch at 12:00 pm on October, 5. Following the lunch, proceed to the Reflections Gallery on the second floor. There, you will find the Clothesline Project, a collection of stories from sexual assault survivors and words of solidarity from supporters, presented on t-shirts.
