Vance Blackfox to be Finlandia University’s 2022 Commencement Keynote Speaker

Finlandia University is pleased to announce that Vance Blackfox, director of Indigenous Ministries and Tribal Relations for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), will be the 2022 Commencement Keynote Speaker on May 1 at 1:30 p.m.

Finlandia’s Spring 2022 Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 1. Here’s a complete run-down of when and where everything is happening.

Thursday, April 29, 2021 marked a historic day in the timeline of Finlandia University. For the first time in two years, students were able to feel the jubilation of walking across the stage on graduation day, diploma in hand. Season 5 of Finlandia Fridays came to a close with a major announcement: Finlandia’s new Director of Marketing and Communications, Jordan Shawhan, will take over the role of host for next season.

Finlandia Announces Hybrid In-Person Commencement on April 29

Finlandia University’s 2021 Spring Commencement will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 6 p.m. in the Hirvonen Health Sciences Building Auditorium. As a safety precaution against the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony will be in-person, but will be limited to graduating students, honor recipients and Finlandia faculty. The event will be live-streamed and recorded for family viewing.

Finlandia University Graduation ceremony to be May 5, 2019

Finlandia University baccalaureate and commencement activities for the class of 2019 are scheduled for Sunday, May 5, on the university’s campus in Hancock.

Exercises for Graduation Day 2019 will begin Sunday morning at 10 a.m. with the Baccalaureate Worship Service at the Chapel of St. Matthew, and conclude with the Commencement Exercises at 1:30 p.m. at Paavo Nurmi Center.
