Monica Freeman Takes Over Alumni, External Relations

Finlandia University is excited to welcome back Monica Freeman, a 2019 alum, as the new Coordinator of External Relations. 

Freeman earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Graphic Design here at FinnU. While here she worked in the communications office as an intern and was a member of the volleyball team for four years.  After graduation, Freeman made the move back downstate before joining FinnU once again as an employee. 

“I’m ecstatic to be a part of the FinnU community again,” said Freeman. “I had strong ties with the campus when I left, and I am looking forward to strengthening my current ties and building new ones within the school and the local community.”

Freeman will be working with alumni, advancement, and managing the Jutila Center.

“It is exciting to be back,” said Freeman. “I think it is even more exciting to come into a role where the predecessors are both here and using their experiences to help me in my role.”

When she’s not in the office or around campus you’ll find Freeman working on digital art projects, cross country skiing or in the summer playing volleyball.
