December 3, 2021

ISB business

On Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 a.m., representatives from Finlandia’s International School of Business (ISB) are teaming up with businesses and organizations from around the community to share and discuss entrepreneurial ideas and opportunities in our local community. ISB Dean Kevin Manninen and Assistant Professor of Management Nathan Perreault will be representing Finlandia on the1 Million Cups committee while other committee members include those from MTEC SmartZone, Michigan Small Business Development Center, Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance and Michigan Tech.

“Our interest stems from the ISB’s passion for supporting business and entrepreneurship in our community. It also allows us to network and stay connected with our entrepreneurial community and to share ideas,” Manninen said.

Open to the public, Finlandia students, especially those taking classes in the International School of Business, are encouraged and welcome to attend.

“Students can likewise network with the entrepreneurial community. They can also hear first-hand about both the challenges and opportunities that entrepreneurs face in trying to launch a venture. It’s certainly value-added education for the students,” Manninen said.

The event will be held at Bonfire at the Continental Fire Co., 408 E Montezuma Ave. in Houghton. Coffee will be served with a local taste of entrepreneurship from Black Ice Comics and Refill U.P.

See the official event listing on Finlandia’s Calendar here.
