FinnU named a 2021 Best Value College

January 24, 2022

For the fourth time in five years, Finlandia University has been named a Best Value College by University Research & Review.

We are incredibly proud of this award because it reflects the diligent and passionate and personalized work being done by our employees every day, and showcase how our tight-knit campus community fosters these efforts. The definition of value includes the importance, worth, or usefulness of something… Finlandia’s repeated status as one of the very best showcases our inherent drive to achieve excellence,” stated Anthony Schwass, Finlandia’s Dean of Enrollment.

The 2021 rankings are based on seven performance indicators; “Is a school affordable and in line with similar schools?”, “Do students like, support, and recommend the school?”, “What’s unique about the institution?”, “Are students overloaded with debt?”, “What’s the student loan default rate?”, “How long does it take students to graduate?”, and “What percentage of enrollees get a degree or credential?”.

FinnU was recognized among nearly 8,000 colleges and universities for its affordability, student support, and quality faculty and staff.

Every meeting, every strategy, and every project we work on always has student success at the core. This is the reason our staff and faculty provide current and prospective students with a quality of attentiveness and service unmatched by other institutions – because they always come first,” Schwass said.

FinnU also has multiple scholarships that allow students to continue their education at an affordable level. Most recently announced was the Lake Effect Scholarship, a needs-based scholarship that allows eligible commuting and on-campus living students to enjoy the benefits of cost-sharing education. Meaning, commuting students will have tuition reduced to $2,500 per year, earning their full Bachelor’s degree for $10,000.

In addition to the Best Value Colleges Award, FinnU was recently ranked #12 on Inteligent.com’s 2022 Best Colleges in Michigan.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH AND REVIEWS BEST VALUE SCHOOL AWARD

The prestigious Best Value School Award honors schools that stand out for multiple reasons; to distinguish the unique and special from the generic, expensive, and common. These schools are reviewed by former college presidents and CEOs who consider, among other things, cost and student feedback. If an institution is too expensive, it is eliminated from consideration.
