Finlandia University is proud to announce its spring 2016 dean’s and honors list. The lists include 119 students, including 76 on the dean’s list for earning a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.

Finlandia University Assistant Professor of English Dr. Carolyn Dekker played the key role of editor in the recently published book A Drama of the Southwest: The Critical Edition of a Forgotten Play. The book is put together from a manuscript written by famous writer Jean Toomer, who passed away in 1967. The heavily credited Harlem Renaissance author wrote the play back in 1935. The unpolished manuscript found the hands of Dekker, and was published in February of this year.
The eighth annual Finlandia University Campus Read concludes Saturday with the inaugural Writers of the Northern Persuasion author forum. The forum is free, open to the public and family friendly. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Finnish American Heritage Center on Quincy Street in Hancock.

Music and theatre are back at Finlandia University, and with that comes auditions for the 2016 Fall Play. Open auditions will be Monday, April 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the future College of Health Sciences building.

10 students inducted during formal installation of program Monday
Monday night 10 Finlandia University students were inducted as charter members of the Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) during the school’s formal installation of the new program.
Joining students, faculty and staff from Finlandia at the installation was ALD National President Dr. Susan Huffman. Huffman, who works at Purdue University, presided over the ceremony.
