Student Nurses Association hosting breakfast benefit for Omega House

The Finlandia University Student Nurses Association (FUSNA) is hosting its second annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, February 24 at Gloria Dei Church in Hancock from 8 a.m. to noon. The proceeds will benefit the Omega House in Houghton.

Tickets will be available at the door for a $5 donation per person. Carry out is available, and all of those in attendance are invited to participate in a raffle.

Senior nursing student and women’s hockey captain, Sierra Meiners visited Finlandia Fridays this week to discuss the women’s hockey team and her final year in the nursing program. Meiners was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association’s (NCHA) Offensive Player of the Week this past week. The university was introduced to Patch at opening convocation, which took place on August 27, the Sunday before classes started. Paula Roth added to nursing faculty at FinnU

Finlandia University’s nursing department is proud to announce the addition of Nursing Instructor Paula Roth. Roth is a practicing nurse at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in nearby L’Anse, Michigan. She has more than 15 years of experience.

“The nursing profession is challenging, especially in rural areas like ours,” Roth said. “I’m excited to pass along my knowledge and my experiences to the next generation of nurses.”
