Sophomore Valerie Helminen, a graphic design major from Calumet, Mich. couldn’t seem to find the right fit when it came to colleges. Having previously attended Michigan Tech and four other schools, Helminen was looking for her next move. A Zoom reception for the artists will take place on Thursday, April 1, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. A video of the student and alumni fashion show will be presented during the zoom reception, followed by a presentation of awards for artistic excellence.

Calumet graduate, Lia Tervo has been selected as the 2020 Brule Scholarship recipient by Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design. The Brule Scholarship, funded by Dave and Elsa Brule, is a $20,000 competitive art scholarship for new students.
