This year ceramics students will be holding a holiday sale on December 4-6th. Students will be selling their work and all proceeds made go to the ceramics fund.
These funds are used for trips to the annual National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts conference and equipment. Like most people who visit the copper country, Amicucci fell in love with the sea of trees and long winters during her time at Finlandia University.
“I was looking for three things when I was applying to colleges: great student to teacher ratio, a strong art department and traveling,” says Amicucci, who earned her BFA in ceramics. “Finlandia had the perfect balance of all three.”

The annual Soup-a-Bowl Fundraiser is slated for Saturday, February 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jutila Center. This event is $10 and attendees will enjoy all the bread and soup they can eat in a homemade bowl that is theirs to keep! The bowls are made by Finlandia students and faculty. In addition, there will be a silent art auction hosted by the Young Women’s Caucus for Art.
The generosity just keeps coming for Finlandia University’s International School of Art & Design – this time from longtime friends of the university Patricia and Peter Van Pelt. The couple is donating $1,000 to the school if a new promotional video is shared 1,000 times on Facebook.

$20,000 competitive art & design scholarship for incoming students
Finlandia University is now accepting applications for the Dave and Elsa Brule Scholarship. This competitive scholarship is for students interested in studying art and design in the university’s International School of Art & Design.
