Finlandia University 2016 graduation is May 1

Finlandia University baccalaureate and commencement activities for the class of 2016 are scheduled for Sunday, May 1, on the university’s campus in Hancock.

Exercises for Graduation Day 2016 will begin Sunday morning at 10 a.m. with the Baccalaureate Worship Service at the Chapel of St. Matthew, and conclude with the Commencement Exercises at 1:30 p.m. at Paavo Nurmi Center.

2016 Juried Student Exhibition and Fashion Show

Exhibit Dates: March 31 to April 20, 2016 Reception: Thursday, March 31, 7 p.m. Student and Alumni Fashion Show at 7:15 p.m.

A juried exhibit of artwork by students in the Finlandia University International School of Art & Design (ISAD) is featured at the Finlandia University Gallery, Hancock, from March 31 through April 20, 2016.

Auditions for 2016 Fall Play on April 11

Music and theatre are back at Finlandia University, and with that comes auditions for the 2016 Fall Play. Open auditions will be Monday, April 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the future College of Health Sciences building.

Cast and assistant roles are open including male and female cast roles, staging assistant and script rehearsal assistant. The play will be Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor.

Medical Assistant students hosting mock clinic with free tests

Finlandia University Certified Medical Assistant students will be hosting a mock clinic on Friday, April 1 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Nikander 30. Anyone interested in receiving free tests/procedures are invited to attend.

The offerings include Vitals (height, weight and BMI), ear cleaning, EKG and Fasting blood tests (including Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL, Risk Factor, Glucose, Hemoglobin, Urinalysis). Nursing students heading into their junior or senior year with a GPA above 3.00 may be eligible for the Samuel L. Westerman Scholarship for Nursing. Application deadline for the scholarship is Thursday, March 10.

Int’l School of Business welcomes new administrative assistant, Haily Morris

Haily Morris has been hired as the administrative assistant of the International School of Business at Finlandia University. Morris is filling the position left with the retirement of longtime Finlandia employee Paula Oye.
