Leading the Pride stays close to home with Robin Meneguzzo, NP (’11)

Leading the Pride keeps it close to home this month with local alumna, Robin Meneguzzo, NP (‘11).  Meneguzzo is a Hancock native who graduated from FinnU with a degree in nursing. She went on to pursue her Master’s degree online from the University of Cincinnati. Finnish American Heritage Center to be featured in TV6’s “A Finnish Christmas”

The roots of Finnish heritage in the Upper Peninsula will be explored in a program called “A Finnish Christmas” this holiday season on TV6 and Fox U.P.

Niska Named New Leader of Finnish Council of America

The Finnish Council of America elected John Niska as its new president this past May. Niska was raised on a beef and horse farm in Green, MI, just west of Ontonagon. His parents were bilingual and often spoke Finnish in his home, shared in Finnish customs and were very proud of their Finnish heritage. Visiting artist Tia Keo dropped by Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about her work in the 28th Annual Finnish Contemporary Artist Series. Keo’s father David Salmela was the 16th artist in the series, making it the first time two family members have been showcased in the series.
