Women Playing Hamlet with DJ Skinner

Student Senate donates to Copper Country Humane Society

Last week Jenna Ollanketo and Alena Fiala (pictured above) from the Finlandia University Student Senate stopped by the Copper Country Humane Society to make a $115 donation. The funds were raised during the senate’s Winter Week event of Pie in the Face.

Give Drugs the Boot has been moved to Saturday, April 22 at 12 p.m. near Finlandia Hall on the campus of Finlandia University. The event, which is hosted by Calumet High School’s S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter, was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 1.

Finlandia Fridays kicks off the weekend with international superstar Antti Holma. Holma, a 34-year-old Helsinki native, gained popularity after appearing on the 2014 season of the Finnish sketch comedy show “Putous.” That same year, he released his debut novel, titled “Järjestäjä,” and followed that with a book of poetry, “Kauheimmat runot” in 2015. Medical Assistant students hosting mock health clinic on March 30

Finlandia University Certified Medical Assistant students are hosting a mock health clinic on Thursday, March 30 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Nikander 30.

All students and employees of Finlandia University are encouraged to attend the mock clinic, which helps students practice critical clinical skills. Those who attend will have the following options available to them.

Blood Pressure Height Weight Body Mass Index (BMI) Ear Cleaning Electrocardiography (EKG) Blood Tests (eight hours of fasting is required for blood tests)

Student wanted for “Seat at the Table” survey

Students are invited to have a ‘Seat at the Table’ in making suggestions for classroom improvements. The Instructional Resource Committee is currently looking at new seating in classrooms, and the committee would like student feedback. All surveys are anonymous. There will be a drawing to win one of  four $5 gift certificates for the 5th and Elm Coffee Shop, good at any of the three locations. The link to the survey is below:
