Kailee Laplander presents Finlandia’s upcoming 125th Anniversary on Finlandia Fridays

This week on Finlandia Fridays, new Executive Assistant to the President, Kailee Laplander, joins the show to talk about Finlandia’s upcoming 125th Anniversary celebrations on December 3, 4 and 5. For the first time, Laplander dives into these three special days of storytelling, Folk School workshops, art, worship and musical performances. Michigan TRIO Professional Organization Celebrates 50 years

Finlandia University TRIO Pre-College and Student Support Services staff recently participated in the Michigan College Access Programs and Personnel Annual Professional Conference spanning two full days and delivered in a virtual format on May 17 and 18, 2021. The 50th anniversary of the state TRIO organization makes it one of the first state TRIO chapters in the country to charter a formal chapter.

TRIO STEAM Saturdays pilot program tackles social justice for high schoolers

TRIO Pre-College programs Online Advisor Kailee Laplander stopped by Finlandia Fridays to discuss a new pilot program that 10 lucky western UP high schoolers will be a part of this spring semester. Laplander Named President-Elect of Michigan College Access Programs & Personnel

Finlandia University’s Kailee Laplander has been named President-Elect of Michigan College Access Programs & Personnel (MI-CAPP). Laplander serves as TRIO Pre-College Programs Coordinator and has been at Finlandia since the fall of 2014.

TRiO-Talent Search is looking for student volunteers

TRIO-TS, a grant funded program hosted by Finlandia University that assists students in 16 local schools who come from modest income homes and/or will be the first person in their family to attend college. Starting this year, TRIO-TS will be running an 8th grade Mentoring/Tutoring Program, featuring college students as the mentors/tutors. Time commitment ranges, with a minimum of 2-2.5 volunteer hours/month.

Requirements for students looking to fill the mentor/tutor role are:
