Since 1998, the Harry A. and Margaret D. Towsley Foundation has partnered with Finlandia University in providing instrumental funding toward technology and equipment. The Foundation’s most recent expression came as a five-year $220,000 grant to provide a robust, state-of-the-art healthcare education for FinnU College of Health Sciences students at their new facility.

This fall, Finlandia University’s overall enrollment grew by six percent with the on-campus student population increasing by nine percent. This full-time-equivalent growth brought 25 more students to campus than in fall 2020, giving Finlandia an enrollment of 430. The fall 2021 incoming class is the largest since 2016 with Finlandia’s International School of Business realizing an all-time high of 137 degree-seeking majors. The Board of Trustees honored Irina Sergeyeva with the 2021 Rising Star Faculty Award at Finlandia’s Spring Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, April 29.
Sergeyeva serves as Finlandia’s RN to BSN Program Coordinator and now Associate Professor of Nursing. She joined the university in August 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix.

Finlandia University’s 2020 Baccalaureate and Commencement activities have been changed to a virtual format.

Finlandia University has been named one of the 2020 Best Online Colleges in Michigan by SR Education Group. The rankings were based on a combination of manually researched tuition, accreditation and PayScale salary data. Finlandia currently has one online program, the online RN-BSN program, which was ranked number 17 in the list of Best Online Michigan Colleges.

Finlandia University is pleased to welcome Cindy Blake, NP, to its nursing faculty as an assistant professor. Blake previously worked at Finlandia as an assistant professor of nursing from 2002 to 2005.
