Biography
Moscow is the place of my origin where I spent my childhood, finished school, and graduated from Russian Financial University. I started my working career in a small private business company as an accountant and gradually progressed to the management position at one of the Moscow banks. The second chapter of my life has been spent in Michigan. My family arrived to Upper Peninsula in 2000. When my family lived in Daniel Heights Apartments, I held the position of Ethnic Aid and assisted the international students with the acclimatization process by organizing and involving them in the community programs. Along the way, I volunteered in many local organizations, including the Elaine Literacy Program and Dial Help, Inc. It was the time when I decided to change my career and bring my enthusiastic nature to the nursing profession. Nursing became my passion. I initiated my new professional journey at the Mollen Immunization Clinic and Summit Health, Inc by conducting immunization and health screening clinics at diverse types of commercial organizations. At the same time, I received the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) training and volunteered at Dial Help, Inc. Portage Health was the next step in my nursing career. I received extensive experience working with multiple orthopedic surgeons, assisting them with the patients' accommodations at the clinical settings. Furthermore, I had an opportunity to work in multiple healthcare departments, including OB/GYN, Neurology, Pediatrics, and Family center. My last occupation at Portage Health was as a care manager in the Primary Care settings. Fall 2014 was the time when I accepted the part-time position at Finlandia University and received a chance to apply my knowledge and experience to the students' education. Teaching unveiled new opportunities for my professional development and added a new perspective on the nursing role. I had a chance to influence students' transformation toward a competent, caring attitude, which is so valuable in the nursing profession. After finishing the Master's Degree in Nursing Education at the University of Phoenix in spring 2015, I gladly accepted a full-time position as an Assistant Professor at Finlandia University.

“Somebody once said that in looking for people to hire , you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy . And if you don’t have the first, the other two will kill you. You think about it; it’s true. If you hire somebody without [integrity], you really want them to be dumb and lazy.” –Warren Buffett
