FinnU’s Honor Society earns 2018 Gold Award

Finlandia University’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta earned the 2018 Gold Award after increasing in size by 56 percent during the 2017-18 academic year.

Globetrotting hockey player Rebecca Lilly of New Zealand talks about her times abroad and at Finlandia

Native New Zealander Rebecca Lilly joined Finlandia Fridays this week. Hailing from the small town of Gore, Lilly is studying biology, while also playing for the women’s hockey team at FinnU. Lilly has been in North America since the age of 15 to play hockey, playing in multiple places in Canada. Being able to continue playing hockey was a primary reason Lilly choose Finlandia. Student representative Melissa Helppi talks about her time in the nursing program

As the school year winds down, Melissa Helppi dropped by to share some of her experiences during her time at Finlandia. Helppi is graduating Summa Cum Laude from the nursing program, is giving a speech during commencement as this year’s student representative and will also be speaking at the nursing pinning ceremony. Helppi mentioned that both her speeches are finished, she just needs to make a few last minute tweaks.

Tonight a group of high-achieving freshmen was installed into the Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for First-Year Students. It was a wonderful event with family members, faculty and staff and fellow students on hand.

Donations Needed – ALD partnering with Toys for Tots

Finlandia University’s Alpha Lambda Delta first-year honor society is partnering with Toys for Tots this holiday season, and your help is requested.

November 28 through December 9 toy bins will be played around campus for the campus community to donate toys. Toys for Tots is a program in which it serves to collect toys for needy children that may not have Christmas presents under their trees this year. After the event social workers receive the toys and donations from the Marine Corps League. [...]

The Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta honor society will host its Winter Vendor Sale on November 12, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center. There will be vendors from LulaRoe, Thirty-One, NYR Organics, Scentsy, Perfectly Posh, Younique and Herbalife. They will sell clothes, bags, cosmetics and more. Finlandia starts Alpha Lambda Delta honor society chapter

10 students inducted during formal installation of program Monday

Monday night 10 Finlandia University students were inducted as charter members of the Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) during the school’s formal installation of the new program.

Joining students, faculty and staff from Finlandia at the installation was ALD National President Dr. Susan Huffman. Huffman, who works at Purdue University, presided over the ceremony.
