President Johnson to lead service of remembrance, grief and protest
June 16, 2016The Finlandia University community is invited to join in a service of rememberance, grief, and protest on Thursday, June 23 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew. President Philip Johnson will lead the brief service of readings and meditation.
“This service allows colleagues to gather, pause and in a quiet but authentic way demonstrate solidarity with all those who grieve and to protest against violence and hatred,” Johnson said. “This gives voice to our community’s shared grief as we reflect on recent violence in Orlando and elsewhere.”
The brief service will conclude by gathering around Finlandia’s peace pole outside the chapel.
