Michael Bond hired as Sports Information Director at Finlandia University

Finlandia University has hired Michael Bond to the role of Sports Information Director. Bond has 26 years of experiences in the sports management field, including most recently helping out at University of Detroit Mercy and Concordia University Ann Arbor.

“I’m appreciative of the opportunity given to me by Finlandia University,” said Bond. “With all the sports we have added in the last few years, it tells me that we are serious about growing the university and the athletic programs. I’m excited to blend my experience and skills with what is already here. I’m looking forward to what the future will bring for the Lions.”

A native of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Bond attended Macomb Community College where he earned lettered in tennis. He has a B.S. in History from Eastern Michigan University and a M.B.A. in Sports Management from Tiffin University.

In addition to working at UDM and CUAA, Bond worked in the athletic offices, primarily in a sports information and marketing role, at California State University, Monterey Bay, Graceland University, Eastern Michigan University, Montana State University Billings, Tiffin University, Oakland University, San Francisco State University and University of Texas–Pan American.

Bond will be handling most aspects of event management, statistics management and public relations for the athletics department at Finlandia University.
